The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to refrain from inciting the public against President Bola Tinubu’s government.
The APC accused Obaseki of shifting blame onto the new administration for the poor state of roads in Edo.
Obaseki recently attributed the deteriorating condition of federal roads in the state to intentional neglect by the federal government.
He alleged that the federal government was obstructing efforts by his administration to repair the roads and seek reimbursement.
The governor’s statements came after a viral video showed his convoy stranded, possibly on the Benin-Sapele Road.
Obaseki also criticized the proposed palliatives from President Tinubu’s administration, calling it a continuation of fraudulent practices against Nigerians.
However, the APC, through its South-South spokesperson Blessing Agbomhere, countered Obaseki’s claims, suggesting that he was attempting to divert attention from his own lack of progress.
The APC challenged Obaseki to showcase his achievements rather than resorting to signed agreements that have yielded little results.
The party called on Obaseki to cease sowing discord against President Tinubu’s administration and urged patience as the process of transformation is set to begin with the screening and swearing-in of cabinet ministers in the coming days.
