I used to sell akara with my mum on the streets – Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy, music producer and executive, shared his early life memories in Ajegunle, where he grew up as the son of an Akara (bean cake) seller.

During his appearance on the Zero Conditions podcast, he discussed how his impoverished upbringing played a significant role in shaping his character and success.

Don Jazzy vividly recalled moments of observing his mother frying Akara and hoping that a kind passerby would offer him help.

These memories continue to resonate with him, reminding him of his journey from those humble beginnings to becoming a prominent figure in the music industry.

It’s worth noting that Don Jazzy tragically lost his mother to cancer in July 2022.
