Three workers arrested for stealing from employer

Three employees of Berger Paints Nigeria Limited have been remanded by the Yaba Magistrates’ Court on charges of stealing their employer’s products and raw materials, as well as engaging in criminal conversion of funds.

The defendants, namely Victor Olasukanmi, James Odelade, and Kehinde Ogundare, appeared before Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun and were ordered to be held at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre for a period of 21 days.

The prosecutor, Justice Enang, informed the court that the first defendant was apprehended with an exhibit while attempting to leave the company premises.

The defendant disclosed information about his accomplices and their involvement in sharing the proceeds from the sale of the stolen raw materials.

The court granted the prosecutor’s request for remand, scheduling the next hearing for June 26, 2023.
