Man faces charges for receiving stolen cattle in Ekiti state

A 32-year-old man named Bello Ismaila was brought before the Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court by the police on Monday, accused of receiving stolen cattle.

According to the police prosecutor, Johnson Okunade, Ismaila allegedly received two stolen cattle from Abdulkadril Buba on May 21 in Ogotun Ekiti.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge, and his counsel requested bail on his behalf, assuring the court that he would not evade trial.

The Chief Magistrate, A.O Adeosun, granted bail to Ismaila in the amount of N100,000 with one surety in the same sum and scheduled the case for hearing on June 13.

In a separate case, two teenagers, Abdullahi and Bashiru, were also arraigned for stealing and unlawful entry.

They were granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each, and the case was adjourned until August 2.
