Tom Cruise set for ‘Dystopian’ stunt at Olympics closing ceremony

AGS NEWS – Tom Cruise is set to perform a daring stunt on the roof of the Stade de France during Sunday’s Paris Olympics closing ceremony.

The event will mark the handover of the Olympic flag to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games.

The closing ceremony, expected to be shorter and more traditional than the opening event, will feature a mix of “wonder” and “dystopia,” according to artistic director Thomas Jolly.

Jolly has described the ceremony as imagining the Olympics as a “fragile monument” being rebuilt in the future.

The show will include over 100 performers, with aerial displays, giant sets, and dramatic lighting. A key sequence will feature acrobats restoring the famous five rings of the Olympics.

While the opening ceremony boasted stars like Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, the closing event is also anticipated to include high-profile celebrities.

Cruise, known for his adventurous stunts, is rumored to have prepared a spectacular act involving the Olympic flag.

Other stars such as Snoop Dogg, Eva Mendes, Ryan Gosling, and Sharon Stone are expected to attend, with unconfirmed rumors suggesting Beyoncé might perform.

French musical acts Air and Phoenix are scheduled to perform.

Organizers aim to avoid controversy similar to the opening ceremony, which faced criticism for featuring drag queens in a sequence some viewed as controversial.

The controversy led to social media harassment of the event’s team and condemnation from French President Emmanuel Macron
