AGS NEWS – World champion Tobi Amusan has qualified for the semi-finals of the 100-meter hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Wednesday, Amusan led the preliminary rounds with a time of 12.49 seconds. American Alaysha Johnson followed with 12.61 seconds, while Jamaica’s Janeek Brown clocked 12.84 seconds.
Amusan is a strong contender for the gold medal but faces tough competition from the Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton, the USA’s Alaysha Johnson, world champion Danielle Williams, and Puerto Rico’s reigning Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, August 9, with the final set for Saturday, August 10.
Amusan has been in excellent form this season, including a world-leading time of 12.40 seconds in May and several other notable performances.
Amusan has also made significant achievements this season, including setting African indoor records, winning her third consecutive African Games title, and securing victories at the African Championships and various other events.
