Ondo state commissioner promises 22 hour electricity for communities soon

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, has assured that the longstanding electricity challenges in the state are on the verge of being resolved.

She indicated that the shift of electricity matters to the concurrent list has prompted the government to take decisive steps towards ensuring extended power supply to communities.

Speaking at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat in Akure, Ademola-Olateju conveyed that efforts are underway to provide 22 hours of daily power to areas like Akure before Governor Akeredolu concludes his term in February 2025.

She also mentioned plans to establish a state electricity commission for overseeing the power sector.

Furthermore, she endorsed the nomination of Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as a minister-designate, expressing confidence in his ability to represent the state well in the Federal Executive Council due to his commendable track record in public service.
