Senate approves appointment of 20 special advisers by Tinubu

Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for approval from the Upper Chamber, key appointments were announced, but the letter presented during the Senate plenary did not include the names of the special advisers.

The appointments were made shortly after the President’s inauguration last week.

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, was appointed as the Chief of Staff, confirming weeks of speculation.

In accepting the position, Gbajabiamila expressed gratitude to Bola Tinubu for considering him worthy and pledged to dedicate himself to the tasks ahead.

Additionally, George Akume, a former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, was named as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

These appointments were announced during a meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF).
