Ekiti tells Fayemi: Be ready to refund allegedly diverted N20bn public funds

The Ekiti Patriotic Consultative Forum (EPCF) has urged former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, to address the allegations against him regarding the diversion of approximately N20 billion loan designated for public projects.

The forum emphasized the importance of coming clean and, if necessary, refunding the alleged misappropriated funds.

The statement was issued in response to a press release, purportedly from one of Fayemi’s representatives, labeling the EPCF as a ‘faceless group.’

Earlier, the EPCF had written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), requesting an investigation into the ex-governor’s alleged misuse of public funds, including the abandoned cargo airport project.

The EPCF emphasized their commitment to accountability, transparency, and the development of Ekiti State, inviting open dialogue and collaboration.

They also urged Fayemi to avoid media-driven damage control and instead focus on transparently addressing the allegations.
