AGS NEWS – The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the federal government to reverse the recent fuel price increase announced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

In a statement by its president, Joe Ajaero, the NLC criticized the government under President Bola Tinubu for mismanaging fuel pricing.

Ajaero expressed concern that previous fuel price hikes have worsened the financial burden on Nigerians without providing any benefits.

He also questioned NNPCL’s role in setting prices, calling it a “hegemonic monopoly.”

The NLC warned that the price hike is deepening poverty and causing job losses, urging the government to reverse the decision and outline a clear long-term plan for national development.
