Police in Gombe nab 12 suspects in crackdown on fake dollar syndicate

The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended 12 individuals believed to be part of a counterfeit dollar syndicate operating within the state.

According to ASP Mahid Abubakar, the command’s spokesperson, the suspects are accused of engaging in the production and circulation of suspected fake currency.

The arrests were made by police operatives based on credible intelligence, with the suspects apprehended in the vicinity between Bajoga and Dukku.

The police successfully seized 563 counterfeit 100-dollar bills and N265,000 during the operation.

ASP Mahid Abubakar further stated that upon completion of the investigation, the suspects would face charges in court.

He urged residents in the state to remain vigilant, advising them to report any suspicious individuals or activities to the security agencies for prompt action.
