Nigerian singer Simi, has expressed her support for couples living together before marriage.
During a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Simi shared her belief that cohabiting allows intending couples to understand each other better before making the decision to marry.
In her own experience, Simi revealed that she lived with her husband, Adekunle Gold, before they tied the knot. She mentioned going over to Adekunle Gold’s place for quality time together.

Despite potential differences in opinion, Simi emphasized the idea that people planning to get married should consider living together for a while.
According to her, this living arrangement provides insights into various aspects of a person’s personality, including how they behave when tired, hungry, or in the morning.

While acknowledging that many people have successfully married without cohabiting, Simi believes that living together before marriage is a good practice to truly understand if a lifelong commitment is feasible.
She added that the duration of cohabitation doesn’t necessarily have to be lengthy.
