VC request stakeholders’ support for LASUED

The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has emphasized the crucial need for collective efforts to safeguard the institution in light of escalating global concerns such as insecurity, crime, drug abuse, and social disorders.

During a security summit held in Otto-Ijanikin, Lagos, Prof. Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, the Vice-Chancellor of LASUED, stressed the importance of ensuring the university’s survival, growth, and flourishing.

Addressing stakeholders, Prof. Lafiaji-Okuneye asserted, “As major stakeholders, we must join hands to nurture this promising citadel of learning, especially considering the rising levels of global insecurity, crime, drug abuse, and other social disorders.

Our focus should be on curbing social misdemeanors and securing the university’s prosperous future. Achieving these goals requires a united and concerted effort.”

Highlighting the necessity of collective protection, she expressed the significance of stakeholders contributing to the university’s success story. “Our names will be written in gold, and we will be happy that we are part of the success story when the child becomes the father of the man,” she added.

The Vice-Chancellor revealed that the university management organized the security summit with the goal of fostering collective responsibility and protection for LASUED.

She also acknowledged the institution’s notable development and achievements within a year of its establishment, emphasizing the leadership’s commitment, dedication, determination, courage, focus, and objectivity in overcoming national and local challenges.

Established in 2022, LASUED received approval from the National Universities Commission and recognition from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in February of the same year.
