CAC set to delist over 91,000 companies for infractions

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is poised to delist 91,843 companies for non-compliance with the filing of annual returns.

The commission, which initially published a list of 94,581 companies in August, reduced the number to 91,843 in its recent update.

This initiative follows the commission’s earlier announcement of plans to remove 100,000 registered companies from its database due to failure to file annual returns.

The CAC, in adherence to Section 692 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, has issued notices to affected companies before initiating the delisting process.

Companies that have fulfilled the filing requirements are advised to confirm their removal from the list, available on the commission’s website.

Any discrepancies should be reported within 30 days through email to compliance@cac.gov.ng, emphasizing the importance of compliance with legal obligations to avoid restrictions on business operations.
