President Bola Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu, despite the Super Falcons’ exit from the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, praised the team’s efforts and announced plans to host them upon their return.
The Falcons displayed dominance in their match against England but were defeated in a last-16 penalty shootout, following a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
President Tinubu took to Twitter, lauding the team’s performance and expressing pride in their representation on the global stage.
Meanwhile, Senator Oluremi Tinubu acknowledged the Falcons’ exceptional play, emphasizing that they gave England a tough match and highlighting their resilience.
The Super Falcons, ranked 40th globally, exited the World Cup in the round of 16 for the second consecutive time, having also been eliminated in 2019 by Germany.
