Former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has dismissed rumors claiming that he has been appointed as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speculation arose on Tuesday suggesting that Odumosu’s appointment was awaiting confirmation by the Senate.

It should be noted that President Bola Tinubu had suspended the previous EFCC chairman due to misconduct.

Odumosu, in a statement released on Wednesday, expressed his lack of awareness regarding such an appointment.

He deemed the circulating news as false and urged Nigerians to disregard the report.

Odumosu referred to the information as the work of mischief makers and called for its complete disregard.
