The Lagos State government has issued a notice to popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, requiring her to settle a total sum of N18,640,092.00 as personal income tax within seven days.
The government claims that Iyabo Ojo owes N7,376,000.00 in taxes for the year 2022 and an additional N11,264,092 in back taxes for the 2021 tax year.
Failure to comply with the payment within the given timeframe may result in penalties for the actress. In response to the letter, Iyabo Ojo criticized the methodology used to calculate the tax amount.

She expressed her disagreement with the assessment and hinted that she would not pay, even if it meant facing arrest.
Iyabo Ojo also questioned the government’s actions and highlighted the lack of support or benefits she has received as a citizen.
