Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has designated new signing Trent Alexander-Arnold as the club’s main corner-kick taker for the upcoming 2025/26 season, particularly from the right side, according to a report by Diario AS.
Alexander-Arnold, 26, joined the Spanish giants earlier this month on a free transfer after choosing not to extend his contract with Premier League champions Liverpool. Upon arrival, he was handed the iconic No. 12 shirt, last worn by legendary full-back Marcelo.
The England international is expected to compete for the starting right-back position with veteran Dani Carvajal but is already being entrusted with set-piece duties—a testament to the confidence Alonso has in his delivery and attacking prowess.
Alexander-Arnold is currently part of the Real Madrid squad taking part in the FIFA Club World Cup, being held in the United States.

Meanwhile, Spanish tennis star and Real Madrid fan Carlos Alcaraz has voiced his support for the defender, predicting a successful spell at the Santiago Bernabéu.
“Huge respect to Trent. I’m pretty sure he is going to be the best right-back in the world,” Alcaraz said.
The move marks a new chapter in Alexander-Arnold’s career, as he transitions from Anfield to one of the world’s most storied football clubs.
