AGS NEWS – A South African woman, Phindiswa Toshi Mpomposhe, was fatally stabbed by her boyfriend, Mkhuseli Ludidi, in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on New Year’s Day.

According to a statement from the advocacy group Women For Change, the incident occurred after an argument over Phindiswa’s choice of clothing.

Phindiswa had gone to the beach to celebrate with her sister, friends, and boyfriend. After changing into bum shorts borrowed from her sister, her boyfriend expressed anger, finding the outfit too revealing.

Though the argument seemed resolved, Phindiswa was later stabbed to death by Mkhuseli when they returned home.

The couple had been dating for eight months, and witnesses said Phindiswa had endured abuse during their relationship.

After the murder, Mkhuseli arrived at the Harare police station covered in blood, claiming someone had been injured, but fled before giving more information.

He was later arrested with two kitchen knives, and Phindiswa’s body was found in Kuyasa. The case has drawn heartbreak and outrage, with the group mourning her loss.
