Biden clears Ukraine to strike inside Russia

AGS NEWS – U.S. President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use long-range American missiles against military targets inside Russia, a U.S. official confirmed on Sunday.

This policy shift follows reports of North Korea sending troops to support Russia in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

The announcement came hours after Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine’s power grid, killing 11 civilians and causing nationwide emergency power cuts as winter looms.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Moscow fired 120 missiles and nearly 100 drones, marking one of the largest assaults of the war.

The attacks drew swift international condemnation. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen denounced Russia’s actions, pledging continued support for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, civilian casualties were reported across multiple Ukrainian regions, with NATO-member Poland on high alert following the strikes near its border.

The conflict approaches its 1,000th day, with fears mounting that the third winter of war could be the harshest yet, as Ukraine struggles to rebuild its devastated energy infrastructure.
