AGS NEWS – The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has named social media personality, Bobrisky, as a person of interest in an ongoing investigation.
The NIS confirmed that its officers intercepted Bobrisky at the Seme border while attempting to flee the country.
Bobrisky’s legal troubles began in April 2024 when he was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse.
Reports later suggested he spent only three weeks in jail before being moved to a private location, raising suspicions of bribery.
Allegations also emerged that he claimed music artist Falz and his father, lawyer Femi Falana, asked him for N10m to secure a presidential pardon, leading to legal actions from the Falanas.

Bobrisky has denied the allegations, blaming the social media influencer who leaked the claims.
The NIS assured the public that Bobrisky is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.
A government panel previously investigated allegations of corruption within the Nigeria Correctional Service regarding Bobrisky’s detention and found no evidence that he slept outside prison, though he reportedly received special privileges.
Further investigation is ongoing into whether these privileges were the result of corruption.
