Air Peace hikes Lagos-Abuja ticket to N200,000 from November

AGS NEWS – From November 1, 2024, a one-way flight from Lagos to Abuja on Air Peace will cost N200,000, the highest among domestic airlines.

Rising airfares, driven by Nigeria’s struggling economy, are forcing many passengers to opt for road transport instead.

Checks revealed other airlines charging lower fares: Aero at N94,000 to N109,000, Arik Air at N104,405 to N139,292, and Ibom Air at N124,000 to N133,000.

Many travelers are now stranded, especially on the busy Lagos-Abuja route, due to high prices and limited seats.

An Air Peace official confirmed the fare increase, citing economic pressures and heavy taxes. Meanwhile, efforts to reach the airline’s Chief Operating Officer for further comment were unsuccessful.

Passengers, like businessman Adeleke Aina, expressed frustration, stating that escalating airfares may force them to switch to road transport.
