AGS NEWS – The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 31-year-old man, Salisu Bala, for posing as a member of the Police Special Constabulary and extorting the public.

According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect was apprehended after multiple complaints of impostors targeting residents in areas like Sabon Gari, Fagge, and Koki Quarters.

Bala, who was caught wearing a police uniform, admitted to using illicit drugs and impersonating a constable to extort money.

Four police uniforms were found in his home during the investigation. The Kano Police Commissioner, Salman Dogo Garba, has warned against impersonation and urged the public to report suspicious activities using the command’s emergency numbers.
