AGS NEWS – A pastor at the Church of The Brethren (EYN) Moduganari in Maiduguri, Borno State, died suddenly while officiating a child naming and dedication service on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Pastor Vincent Alaku collapsed with the microphone in his hand during the ceremony.

Details surrounding the incident are still unclear, but church members have confirmed the tragic event on Facebook.

One member, Zaphaniah Kwaji, shared, “We regret to announce the sudden demise of the EYN Church Pastor serving in EYN LCC Moduganari, who passed away after collapsing during a child naming and dedication service. May he rest in peace.”

Another member, Tankwa Chokali, expressed the shock and sadness felt by the congregation, stating, “Much pain, confusion, shock, and sadness among others. We will never forget this day! October 6, 2024, hit us hard.”
