Digital financial institution MoniePoint Inc. is providing community pharmacists across Nigeria with innovative payment solutions to enhance access to medication.
The microfinance bank has also offered loans to pharmacists under the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) to improve healthcare access nationwide.
In a recent case study titled “Inside Nigeria’s Community Pharmacies: How MoniePoint Drives Healthcare Access with Payments and Funding,” MoniePoint reaffirmed its commitment to digital payment solutions aimed at improving health outcomes.
The study, released at the ACPN headquarters in Lagos, emphasized the crucial role of community pharmacies, especially in areas with limited healthcare facilities.
ACPN National Chairman, Ambrose Igwekwam, praised the role of community pharmacies in Nigeria’s healthcare system but highlighted challenges such as poor infrastructure, regulatory issues, and reliance on imports. He called for stronger partnerships with institutions like MoniePoint to address these challenges.
Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu, First National Vice-President of the Nigerian Medical Association, also praised the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of supporting healthcare in rural areas to reduce migration and promote balanced development across the country.
