Facebook is working to attract younger users, shifting from its reputation as a platform for older generations, according to Meta’s head of Facebook, Tom Alison.
He highlighted that while the platform originally connected family and friends, its future focus will be on helping users build new connections, aligning with how younger people use social media.
Alison pointed out that younger adults often turn to Facebook during key life moments, such as moving to a new city and using Marketplace or joining parenting groups when they start families.
