AGS NEWS – Dr. Elizabeth Egbetokun, the National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), has reaffirmed the group’s commitment to improving the welfare of police families and promoting unity among them.

She made this pledge during the commissioning of a new POWA office complex named after her in Port Harcourt on Friday.

She noted that the complex will serve as a center for empowerment, education, and community engagement, where members can collaborate to address the challenges faced by police families.

Mrs. Mutiat Disu, chairperson of POWA in Rivers State, highlighted the economic potential of the new facility, which includes a mini business hub.

She thanked the state government for its support, adding that the complex will help generate funds for the association’s activities.

Valerie Fubara, wife of the Rivers State Governor, encouraged POWA members to make full use of the complex, stressing its role in promoting women’s empowerment and economic development.

At the event, starter packs were distributed to 41 beneficiaries, including widows of deceased police officers, as part of POWA’s ongoing support initiatives.
