AGS NEWS – The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has called for continued peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in Kwara State.
Speaking at the 85th anniversary of First Baptist Church, Ilorin, Sulu-Gambari, represented by Oba Oluwagbemiga Oloyede, praised the unity between the two religious communities, referring to Kwara as the “State of Harmony.”

He urged both groups to maintain this peace and encouraged prayers for Nigeria amid the country’s current economic challenges.
The Emir also advised the youth to avoid negative behaviors like online fraud and ritual killings, which could worsen the nation’s problems.
At the event, Reverend Israel Akanji of the Nigerian Baptist Convention urged Christians to focus on true worship, stressing that the church is a path to heaven.
The church launched an N85m fundraiser for a bus during the celebration, which was attended by other dignitaries, including a representative of the Soun of Ogbomosoland.
