AGS NEWS – Former Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has expressed disappointment over Victor Osimhen’s loan move from Napoli to Galatasaray, hinting that the transfer might not be purely football-related, Sports Extra reports.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan after failed transfer attempts to Chelsea and Saudi club Al Ahli. The loan does not include a purchase option, and Osimhen reportedly extended his Napoli contract until 2027.
Osimhen was sidelined from Napoli’s squad following the failed moves, and his loan to Galatasaray gives him a chance to regain first-team football.

Napoli replaced Osimhen with Romelu Lukaku, a move Hamsik sees as positive for the club. He acknowledged, “I’m sorry Osimhen left, but it’s probably not just about football. Napoli signed a top striker in Lukaku, who can easily score 20 goals.”
Osimhen, who extended his contract with Napoli last December, was a hot target for clubs like Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al Ahli during the summer.
Napoli reportedly accepted an €80m offer from Al Ahli, but Osimhen hesitated about leaving European football, leading to tensions when Napoli requested an additional €5m.
