AGS NEWS – Nigeria has called for a stronger partnership with the United Nations to boost sustainable agriculture and food security.
The appeal was made on Tuesday in Abuja during a visit by UN Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Amina Mohammed.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, welcomed Mohammed and emphasized the importance of UN collaboration, particularly given Nigeria’s large population and growing food demands.
Kyari also highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to working with international organizations like the FAO, IFAD, and UNDP to enhance food production and support rural livelihoods.
Mohammed acknowledged the challenges Nigeria faces, including rising commodity prices and displacement, and stressed the need for continued UN support in addressing these issues.
