AGS NEWS – The Department of State Services (DSS) has released investigative journalist Adejuwon Soyinka, hours after his arrest at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Soyinka, the Regional Editor of The Conversation Africa, was detained around 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, upon his arrival from the United Kingdom and taken to the DSS office in Ikoyi.

A source close to Soyinka, who is also a former BBC Pidgin Editor, confirmed his release to Channels Television but noted that the DSS had seized his travel passport.
The reason for his arrest remains unclear, and DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya stated that he was not aware of the incident.
