AGS NEWS – Donald Trump held his first outdoor campaign rally on Wednesday since surviving an assassination attempt, targeting his Democratic rival Kamala Harris with sharp criticisms.
Speaking behind bulletproof glass in North Carolina, Trump labeled Harris as the “most radical left person” to ever run for the presidency and warned that her victory would result in millions of job losses and other dire consequences.
The event marked Trump’s return to large outdoor rallies after being lightly wounded in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania a month earlier.
The rally in Asheboro featured heavy security, including a bulletproof screen around the podium where Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, addressed the crowd.
Trump’s speech was filled with warnings about the potential consequences of a Harris presidency, including the possibility of World War III.

Despite the security concerns, Trump ventured into the crowd to check on an attendee who experienced a medical issue during the event.
The rally was a significant moment for Trump as Harris has been drawing large crowds since replacing Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, challenging Trump’s dominance in staging large-scale political events.
Harris’s ability to attract large audiences has surprised the Trump campaign, especially in key swing states like North Carolina, where the outcome of the upcoming election could be decided.
The 2024 U.S. presidential election remains highly contested, with North Carolina being one of several critical battleground states.
