NAFDAC busts illegal alcohol factory in Lagos, seizes N200m goods

AGS NEWS – The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested three suspects following a raid on an illegal alcohol production facility in Lagos Island, Lagos State.

Acting on credible intelligence, NAFDAC enforcement officers discovered makeshift factories in the Oke-Arin market, where various alcoholic beverages were being produced, packaged, and sold.

During the raid, over 2,000 cartons of empty bottles, packaged drinks, a mini plastic mixing tank, and other packaging materials were seized.

The confiscated goods are estimated to be worth N200 million. NAFDAC has urged consumers to remain vigilant when purchasing alcoholic beverages, as investigations continue, and the suspects are set to face prosecution.
