AGS NEWS – A 58-year-old mother, Eucharia Okpalannadi, has called on authorities to help her seek justice after her three-year-old daughter was allegedly defiled by her father.

Eucharia also reported threats to her life from her husband, Magnus Okpalannadi, for exposing the incident in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Eucharia, from Amesi in Aguata Local Government Area, has been married to Magnus, from Achina in the same LGA, for 26 years.

She recounted her ordeal to the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, in Awka on Saturday.

“We have five children, four girls and one boy, who is the twin of the defiled child. Initially, I thought my daughter’s complaints of sexual abuse were a joke until I noticed her private parts were not in good shape,” she said.

After confronting her husband, who denied the accusations, Eucharia took the child to a hospital where a doctor confirmed the defilement.

Angered by the situation and urged by friends and relatives, she decided to make the matter public to seek justice.

Eucharia expressed fear for her life and her daughter’s, describing her husband as dangerous. She wants him arrested and prosecuted to prevent further harm.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Ify Obinabo, acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and condemned those exploiting it for financial gain.

She assured that the Anambra State Government would pursue justice, despite the suspect being at large.
