AGS NEWS – European regulators have accused Elon Musk’s X of violating the Digital Services Act, alleging the platform misled users and failed to comply with transparency requirements.
Margrethe Vestager, a senior European Commission official, issued preliminary findings on Friday, highlighting concerns about X’s use of dark patterns, inadequate ad transparency, and restrictions on data access for researchers.

The Commission criticized X’s handling of verified accounts, noting widespread misuse by non-trustworthy actors.
If confirmed, the violations could lead to fines up to 6% of X’s global annual turnover. X has yet to respond to requests for comment.
