AGS NEWS – The Plateau State Tourism Corporation (PSTC) announced the escape of a hyena from its cage at the Jos Wildlife Park.

The incident was reported in a statement released on Monday, July 8, 2024, after the animal was discovered missing.

The Jos Wildlife Park, a prominent tourist attraction in Plateau State known for its conservation efforts, issued the announcement to protect the public and assist in capturing the hyena.

“Our dedicated team of Game-guards and Park-rangers, with the help of drone technology, is currently tracking the hyena,” the statement said. “We assure the public that we are taking all necessary measures to locate the escaped animal and ensure its safe return to its enclosure soon.”

The PSTC advised the public to remain calm and avoid approaching the hyena if sighted. They provided contact numbers for immediate notification: 09026927620 and 09131000945.
