AGS NEWS – The Ebonyi government has approved the release of N2 billion for scholarships to support 597 successful candidates studying in Nigerian universities.
This decision was announced on Tuesday by Mr. Jude Okpor, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, following the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Francis Nwifuru.
The funds will cover school fees, research funding, and living expenses for the beneficiaries.

The Council also decided that research funds would be paid directly to the universities to prevent mismanagement.
Civil servants who qualify for the scholarships will receive study leave with pay.
The government emphasized that state information officers should publicize its achievements effectively.
Moreover, to enhance firefighting capabilities, the purchase of two new fire trucks was approved.
The Council also allocated funds for constructing a road to the Ebonyi Waste Pulverisation Plant and renovating doctors’ quarters in general hospitals across the state.
