AGS NEWS – Toyota Nigeria Limited plans to introduce three electric vehicles in Nigeria over the next three years as part of its commitment to support the government’s green initiative.
Kunle Ade-Ojo, Managing Director of TNL, made this announcement during a press briefing at the inaugural Toyota Motor Show organized by the company.
He revealed that the Toyota Cross hybrid electric vehicle will debut by the end of this year, followed by the RAV4 hybrid next year, and the Land Cruiser Prado hybrid by late next year or early 2026.
Ade-Ojo also mentioned TNL’s collaboration with partners to utilize its workshop network for the conversion of vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) power, in line with the Federal Government’s campaign.

Last year, Nigeria saw approximately 10,000 new vehicle sales, with Toyota accounting for about 1,500 units.
This year, the industry projects around 15,000 new vehicle sales, with Toyota aiming to double its performance from last year.
The Toyota Motor Show, held over three days in Lekki, featured vehicle displays, product launches, test drives, and interactive sessions, resembling international auto fairs.
It provided customers and stakeholders an opportunity to explore Toyota’s range of vehicles and after-sales services firsthand.
