AGS NEWS – The autopsy report on Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, indicates that a drug reaction might have caused his death.
Conducted at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, the autopsy suggested a possible fatal anaphylactic shock or drug reaction.
Anaphylactic shock is a severe, potentially fatal allergic reaction. The hospital examined samples from Mohbad’s stomach, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung for toxicology tests.
Traces of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, were found in his blood, though not in fatal amounts.
The autopsy also noted an injury on Mohbad’s right forearm and moderate to severe decomposition of his body, which was exhumed eight days after burial.
There were no significant findings to attribute to his death.

The report emphasized that timely blood sampling is crucial for detecting fatal anaphylactic shock, which was not feasible due to his quick burial.
The exact cause of death remains undetermined, though a fatal drug reaction is considered possible.
Mohbad, 27, a former artist under Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label, died on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances.
This prompted the Lagos State Police to form a special investigation team and led to arrests, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
The toxicology test results were disputed by a U.S. lab, which denied conducting such tests.
