Ronaldo in tears after Al Nassr’s king’s cup final defeat

AGS NEWS – Cristiano Ronaldo was emotional as his Al Nassr team lost the King’s Cup final to Al Hilal on penalties on Friday, continuing his wait for a major trophy in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr last year, was visibly upset, sitting with tears in the dugout after Al Hilal’s victory.

The match, marked by three red cards including one for Al Nassr’s David Ospina, saw Ayman Yahya equalize in the 88th minute after an early goal from Al Hilal’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Al Hilal secured a 5-4 win in the penalty shoot-out, completing a domestic treble with previous wins in the Super Cup and Saudi Pro League, where they remained unbeaten.

Despite Ronaldo’s record-breaking 35 goals this season, Al Nassr finished second to Al Hilal in the league and lost to them in the Super Cup.

Ronaldo’s only trophy with Al Nassr so far is the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr, worth 400 million euros over two-and-a-half years, ends next season.
