AGS NEWS – Former Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has disclosed that his administration inherited a substantial debt burden from the previous administration led by Nyesom Wike.
Fubara revealed that the Rivers State Government, under his leadership, awarded nine new road projects worth N534.332 billion but inherited 34 unfinished projects valued at over N225.279 billion, spread across 13 local government areas.

He also criticized the political crisis that emerged against his administration just three months after taking office on May 29, 2023.
Fubara made these remarks while presenting an Account of Stewardship and Scorecard to mark the one-year anniversary of his administration at the Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt on May 29.
“We started this journey with a bang. We were focused and determined to implement the changes we promised with urgency.
But barely three months into our tenure, we found ourselves in a severe political crisis,” he said. “Thankfully, the worst is over. We have defended our right to govern and will continue to advance the State’s progress.”
Fubara emphasized the importance of accountability, responsiveness, and responsibility for the security and well-being of the people.
