Groom discovers his bride is actually a man 12 days after their wedding

AGS NEWS – An Indonesian groom discovered twelve days after his wedding that his bride was actually a man.

The groom, known as AK, 26, met his spouse, Adinda Kanza, also 26, on Instagram in 2023.

They dated in person for a year, during which Adinda wore a niqab, which AK assumed was a sign of her devotion to Islam.

The couple married in a small ceremony at AK’s home after Adinda claimed she had no family. However, AK grew suspicious after Adinda avoided intimacy, citing her period or feeling unwell.

According to the South China Morning Post, AK tracked down Adinda’s former address twelve days after their wedding and discovered her parents, who revealed that Adinda was actually a man named ESH, who had started cross-dressing in 2020.

Adinda’s parents said they were unaware of their son’s relationship or marriage. Police noted that Adinda looked and sounded like a woman, which had prevented any suspicion.

ESH has been arrested and faces fraud charges, which could result in up to four years in prison. He allegedly intended to marry AK to steal his family’s assets.

Police also suggested that ESH enjoyed pretending to be a woman while dating men and had previously dated women. The investigation is ongoing.
