Taraba TV Under Scrutiny: Gov Kefas launches probe committee

AGS NEWS – Following the recent suspension of the general manager of Taraba Television Station by Governor Agbu Kefas, the state government has inaugurated a committee to investigate the station’s activities.

Led by Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Yakubu Maikasuwa, the committee has been tasked with specific terms of reference.

Maikasuwa emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to these terms and urged the committee members to maintain impartiality and fairness throughout their investigation.

The committee’s scope includes examining the station’s revenue sources, assessing strategies for debt reduction and savings, investigating reasons for the station’s prolonged downtime, and probing allegations of insubordination.

Additionally, the committee will consider whether the station should pursue commercialization for sustainability.

Chaired by Justice Hamidu Audu, the five-member committee, represented by its secretary, Liberty Andrew, has invited submissions from the public, station staff, and professional unions to aid in their investigation.
