AGS NEWS – Chukwubuikem Azoro, Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Idemili Branch in Anambra State, has been released by his kidnappers.
Azoro was freed early Monday morning after being held captive for 15 days by unidentified gunmen.
A source from the state NBA, who requested anonymity, revealed that Azoro was released following the payment of an undisclosed ransom.

“Yes, he was released early today and has reunited with his family,” the source confirmed. “The kidnappers let him go after receiving a ransom, though I don’t know the exact amount.”
NBA members had boycotted all courts in the state for a week to demand Azoro’s release.
With his return, the boycott has been suspended, and the NBA is urging authorities to prevent future kidnappings.
Azoro was abducted on May 11, 2024, around the Abagana area in Njikoka Local Government Area, just two weeks after his wedding.
