EFCC arrests two in Enugu for alleged currency racketeering

AGS NEWS – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Enugu Zonal Command has apprehended Nweke Daniel Kelechi and Iroude Chibuzor for their alleged involvement in currency racketeering amounting to N850,000.00 (Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).

According to a statement released by the commission on May 27, the arrests were made by the Special Task Force of the EFCC following days of surveillance and actionable intelligence around United Bank for Africa (UBA), ESBS, Enugu State.

Chibuzor was initially apprehended during a sting operation, and subsequent investigations revealed that he was working under the authorization of Kelechi to sell new Naira notes.
