AGS NEWS – The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) inaugurated a N248 million injection substation in Amufi, Ikpoba Okha Local Government of Edo State on Monday to enhance power supply in the region.
During the event, NDDC Managing Director Samuel Ogbuku highlighted that the project will improve energy availability for Amufi and surrounding areas, boosting productivity for local businesses and artisans.
He emphasized the NDDC’s role in complementing state government efforts and President Bola Tinubu’s directive to complete and revive projects for community benefit.

Ogbuku praised the Amufi community for safeguarding the project during construction and urged other communities to follow their example.
He also called for continued security support for the facility and promised to address road access issues.
Senator Neda Imaseun, representing Edo South in the National Assembly, lauded the substation’s impact on local power supply and business growth.
He appealed to the NDDC to improve the access road to further enhance the community’s quality of life.
Edo State representative on the NDDC board, Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, commended the project and encouraged the community to protect the new facility.
