AGS NEWS – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State has apprehended a suspected serial motorcycle thief in the Oke Ala area of Ede town.
Identified as 27-year-old Wahab Saburi, a native of Ede, the suspect allegedly specializes in snatching motorcycles from their owners using a master key.
Confirming the arrest to reporters in Osogbo on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, disclosed that Saburi was apprehended on May 11, 2024, in Oke-Ola following intelligence provided to NSCDC personnel.

Adaralewa revealed that the investigation uncovered Saburi’s modus operandi of storing stolen motorcycles in his room on Obada Street, Agate, Ede.
During interrogation, Saburi confessed to his involvement in motorcycle theft for about three years and admitted to using a specific key to unlock stolen bikes.
Further investigation uncovered four stolen motorcycles in his possession, allegedly taken from various locations including Agip area, Ayo–Omoba, Obada, and Ede.
Saburi confessed to selling the stolen motorcycles for Forty-Thousand Naira each (N40,000) to buyers in Ede, with the assistance of an associate who prepares sales agreement papers for him.
The Commandant assured the public of the NSCDC’s commitment to apprehending all involved in the crime, promising that accomplices would face legal consequences.
Saburi is expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
