Vice president Shettima cancels US trip due to aircraft malfunction

AGS NEWS – The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, has cancelled his trip to the United States and returned home.

Shettima was supposed to attend the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas. However, due to a technical issue with his aircraft, he had to change plans on the advice of the Presidential Air Fleet.

In his place, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the summit.

This information was confirmed in a statement signed by Stanley Nkwocha, the president’s aide on Media and Communications.

Despite the cancellation, the Vice President will continue with other national responsibilities.

The summit, which will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, aims to bring together political and business leaders from Africa, the United States, and other regions for high-level discussions, networking, and plenaries.
