AGS NEWS – Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), shared a startling incident where a 17-year-old managed to hack into his personal computer and bank account during interrogation at the EFCC office in Lagos.
In a recent discussion with editors at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja, Olukoyede described how the teenager, who was studying History and Anthropology, demonstrated his hacking skills effortlessly.

The young hacker obtained Olukoyede’s BVN and even mentioned his bank account details without any prior information.
Expressing concern over the prevalence of such cybercrimes among youths, Olukoyede emphasized the need to deter such activities.
Despite the severity of the crimes, he advocated for light sentences to rehabilitate and reorientate the young offenders.
In a bold display of his capabilities, the teenager confidently claimed he could transfer up to 10 million naira from any account in a single transaction.
However, Olukoyede intervened to prevent any further illegal activities.
The teenager attributed his involvement in cybercrime to his parents’ inability to work on their farm due to security concerns.

He was supporting his family financially, including paying for his siblings’ education.
Moved by the circumstances, Olukoyede pledged to support the teenager’s education if he stopped his criminal activities.
He sought assistance from his network to ensure the education of the hacker’s siblings as well.
