AGS NEWS – A 27-year-old man from Tunisia found himself in a distressing situation when he fractured his penis in two places while asleep, causing excruciating pain and a notable “eggplant” deformity.
This rare occurrence, though uncommon, demanded immediate medical attention due to its potential severity.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly rolled over onto his erect penis during sleep, resulting in an audible snapping sound and intense discomfort.

Despite the alarming symptoms, he waited for 36 hours before seeking medical assistance, exacerbating the situation.
Upon examination at the hospital, doctors observed significant swelling, deviation to the right, and a blood clot at the base of the penis.
These signs, coupled with the eggplant-like appearance, indicated fractures in the tunica albuginea, the tissue responsible for penile enlargement during erection.
Under general anesthesia, surgeons performed a delicate procedure to repair the fractures, which measured 7 millimeters and 10 millimeters respectively.

Although rare, suffering multiple breaks in the penis is a unique occurrence in medical practice.
The surgery was successful, and the patient was discharged from the hospital after suturing the lacerations.
In the following days, the swelling subsided, and the patient regained full erectile function by the fourth day post-surgery.
He experienced no long-term complications related to urination or sexual function during the 12-month follow-up period, indicating a successful recovery from the unusual ordeal.
